MagicBands soon coming to Disney’s Aulani resort in Hawaii

shopDisney announced yesterday that MagicBands will be coming to Disney’s Aulani resort in Hawaii. The hidden announcement was short on details, so we’re left to guess if this means certain MagicBands will be exclusive to the resort through either on-site purchase or some type on online check-in process, or if anyone will be able to buy the themed bands on shopDisney.com. And we’re also left to assume how they’ll be used, but most likely they will be for unlocking rooms, checking kids in and out of the kids center called Aunty’s Beach House, for wearing in the pool, and for making purchases around the resort area and for food at the on-site restaurants.

Having been to Aulani myself, this is definitely a nice convenience to have, especially with older kids who may want to run around without parents and yet still be able to come back to the room or grab a bite to eat. Here’s what the announcement looks like on shopDisney:

  1. MagicBands will not be active at the Aulani by May of 2021 and there is no ETA. I confirmed directly with Aulani guest services today. ?
