Today I was fortunate enough to obtain a few more prototype MagicBands. These include the all-red band (which we have seen before for FCC approval), and a new one I hadn’t seen which is an all-green MagicBand. Previously, I’ve been able obtain and report about other solid color prototypes including the all-yellow, and the all-dark gray bands.
These are quite interesting and colorful bands without the gray strap on them, but I can understand why Disney decided to change away from this design to include the gray strap; it makes it much easier for guests to see that the strap is removable. As you can see from the pictures, the backs of these also have the MyMagic Mickey head logo with the plus symbol (+) next to it.
Did they have to submit each color for approval ?
I have no idea. I do wish I had more details on these prototypes. Maybe it was for testing colors? Not sure.
