The Magic Kingdom’s 45th Anniversary is coming soon, and to celebrate it Disney is releasing a ton of themed merchandise. According to the Disney Parks Blog, one of the new items is a Limited Edition 4500 themed MagicBand. The item will be released “on October 1 at the Emporium” in the Magic Kingdom. No word yet if it will be sold elsewhere, such as on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app.
Because these bands are Limited Edition and exclusive to the Magic Kingdom, they should make special lights and sounds at both entry and FastPass+ touch points within the Magic Kingdom. I hope to have more details on these special effects around Oct. 1st, 2016.

There is, but no video has been taken of it yet. I am out of town on vacation so I hope one of my readers can send me a video soon.

that makes me angry actually. I stood in line for a long time Saturday for these bands. I cast member handed me the wrong box.. a mickey statue instead of the bands which I didnt realize till we left magic kingdom and opened the boxes. We went back into magic kingdom to exchange them and were told they were SOLD OUT. they gave me the wrong item. NOT MY FAULT and tell me theyre sold out and they arent??!!

same here, I was in the line and that everything is sold out except for a couple of sizes of the t-shirts but it’s frustrating that this is not the case.

They will be for sale all year long until they sell out. My guess is that they will be gone quickly (as-in before 2017).
I went today to MK and there were easily more than 50 behind the registers in the emporium.

I saw a couple yesterday at Big Top Souvenirs as well.
I used it Oct. 22-24 at Epcot, MK, and Hollywood Studios and there were no special sounds or lights at the front gates or at Fastpass locations.
